May Dates & Deadlines

 

April 28-May 16 - Arts Critique assignment: Each guitar student must attend one arts elective performance or exhibit other than that in their own arts elective areas.  They must have the teacher in charge sign the printed program and hand in their critique on or before May 16. click here for assignment

 

 

May 10 - Student Arts Showcase in downtown Lafayette from 12-8.  L.J. Alleman Arts Departments will be showcased from 2-3. The Cowboy Project will be showcased from 5:30-6pm.

 

 

 

May 20 - Guitar Spring Concert. 6:30 LJA cafeteria.

Practice and homework assignments are posted weekly and linked to my lesson plans. Click the HOMEWORK button on the left hand menu.

 

Practice times:

Guitar I - 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week

Guitar II - 40 minutes per day, 5 days per week

Guitar III & IV - 45 minutes per day, 5 days per wk

Practice sessions should include:

  • warm up (finger patterns, scales, chord progressions) - 1/4 of the practice time
  • new and familiar repertoire - at least half of the practice time
  • students' choice repertoire - 1/4 of the practice time

Practicing in front of family members is encouraged.
