October 1 – Trout Fishing in America songwriting workshop Guitar II. UL Angelle Hall 9:30-11:30am.


October 21 – Fall Recital. Guitar II, III & IV.  LJA Library during class hours.


October 22 -  Fall Recital. Guitar I & 5th Grade.  LJA Library during class hours.


November 8 – Fall Frenzy Schools of Choice Expo.  Guitar III & IV selected students. 10am-2pm TBA.


December 17 – Winter Arts Spectacular. Guitar Ensemble. UL Angelle Hall. 9am student performance, 6:30pm evening performance.


December 18 – Guitar Caroling. All classes during class hour


January 27 – Guitar School Tour. Guitar Ensemble. All day.


February 6 – Solo and Small Ensemble Festival. LJA Library during class hour.


February 11 – Guitar and Strings Honor Recital.  LJA Cafeteria. 6:30pm


April 16 – Spring Recital, Guitar I and 5th Grade.  LJA Cafeteria 6th Hour


Guitar III & IV LJA Cafeteria 6:30pm


April 24 – Countries Program. LJA Gym. 6th graders


May 13 – FAMILY JAM NIGHT.  School grounds 5-8:00pm




Practice and homework assignments are posted weekly and linked to my lesson plans. Click the HOMEWORK button on the left hand menu.


Practice times:

Guitar I/Ukulele - 30 minutes per day, 5 days per week (10 minutes/day until Sept 30.)

Guitar II - 40 minutes per day, 5 days per week

Guitar III & IV - 45 minutes per day, 5 days per wk

How to Practice:

  • warm up (finger patterns, scales, chord progressions) - 1/4 of the practice time
  • new and familiar repertoire - at least half of the practice time
  • students' choice repertoire - 1/4 of the practice time

Practicing in front of family members is encouraged.

Parents, help your student remember to have their practice record signed.
